Synopsis
Strange Supreme took Captain Carter to his Sanctum Infinitum, revealing his capture of various "universe-killers" as an act of atonement for his past sins. Carter was asked by Strange to assist in apprehending an escaped variant who had fled to a universe where Hydra had utilized the Tesseract to devastate the world. Despite the Watcher's warning, Carter agreed to help. During her mission, Carter encountered Kahhori, who exposed Strange's true intentions. He had been trapping both heroes and villains from different universes to feed them to the Forge, a device he created to resurrect his own universe, inadvertently destroyed in an attempt to prevent Christine Palmer's demise. As Strange attempted to eliminate Kahhori, Carter freed the confined variants within the Sanctum, enabling her and Kahhori to escape from Strange's clutches. They crossed paths with Black Panther Killmonger, whom Kahhori disarmed by teleporting him out of his Infinity Armor, allowing Carter to utilize it. Together, Carter and Kahhori confronted Strange at the Forge, where he commenced sacrificing the variants to the contraption. With the aid of the liberated variants offering their weapons, Carter faced off against Strange, who was gradually consumed by his demonic alter ego. Eventually, Carter succeeded in separating Strange from his demonic counterpart. As the Forge began collapsing, Strange sacrificed both himself and his demonic self to it.
The Watcher intervened, teleporting Kahhori back to her universe and guiding Carter to his dimension. There, the Watcher revealed that Strange's universe had been restored, but Strange himself would never be reborn into it. Carter, intrigued, asked the Watcher to reveal the multiverse before she returned home.
