Synopsis for "What If? the Cosmic Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy Had Been Defeated By Korvac?"

At the Citadel at the End of Time, the Time-Keepers revealed to the Watcher that they had interfered in certain realities to preserve their own existence, which was endangered by certain entities known as Nexi; the first involving the yet-unborn Franklin Richards and the second involving the Vision conquering the world and they revealed that the android was the one they sought to erase.

The Time-Keepers planned to use Korvac as a pawn against Vision. When the Cosmic Avengers attempted to pursue a Skrull ship, they were captured and met Korvac, who revealed his plan to control the galaxy and the Ultra-Vision, and his thralls, the Guardians of the Galaxy, rather than Skrulls. The Comics Avengers' ship, the Henry Pym, landed on Deimos, where Korvac attempted to destroy the Ultra-Vision. As a result of Korvac also enthralling the Cosmic Avengers, the Space Commandos led by John Fury, Jr. fought both them and the Guardians before the Whisperer briefly drew his astral form out of his body and warned him what would happen if the Ultra-Vision's attempted destroyer won.

Fury used ultrasound to dispel Korvac's influence over the Cosmic Avengers, who then fought the Guardians before the latter team forgot that they had been hypnotized. Then, they learned that Korvac had destroyed the Ultra-Vision and taken over the computers that he had inhabited. However, the Cosmic Avengers were able to defeat Korvac.

Afterwards, the Time-Keepers planned to eliminate two other Nexi that threatened their existence. After the Guardians and Cosmic Avengers had parted ways, the Whisperer grabbed Irondroid and vanished.
