History
After the U-Foes learned about the upcoming invasion of the Fear Eaters, they took that information to their employeer Madame Masque, who in turn revealed it to A.I.M. and joined them, believing that they could help the planet prepare.[1]

She and the U-Foes were captured by the Avengers,[2] but soon were able to escape. Soon after which Madame Masque was able to steal the Ruby Egress, an ancient gem with magical properties, which she handed over to her father Luchino Nefaria[3] in order to gauge its potential against the upcoming invasion.[4] Having deemed the test a failure, Madame Masque informed A.I.M. that a new strategy was required.[5]
When all of A.I.M.'s efforts have failed, M.O.D.O.K. decided to have them simply abandon the planet for the time being. Madame Masque refused and M.O.D.O.K. severed A.I.M.'s ties with her, taking A.I.M. base #78-66 into space as soon as she left.[4] Madame Masque and the U-Foes then went to the Avengers directly and, after they were subdued by the team, revealed to them the upcoming Fear Eaters invasion and that their only weakness was vibranium.[1] As the reward for that information, the Avengers had S.H.I.E.L.D. wipe Madame Masque's criminal record clean, after which she was let go free.[6]
