William Deguchi joined Strikeforce Morituri knowing that he would only have a year to be of any use to the group in the fight against the alien Horde.[1]
During her tenure with the team he and Scaredycat had a romance before she was killed. Later Deguchi was injured in battle and lay in a coma until his year was up, when he died.[1]
