William Lamont[src]

History

Meetings the Arachnid[]

Lamont was tasked with investigating the mysterious disappearances of "Street Kids" that were taking place in New York City. He didn't have much information about the case until Spider-Man personally approached him for assistance. Spider-Man described a potential suspect to Lamont, who turned out to be Richard Cranston. Lamont aided in locating the suspect, who was confined in a mental institution. Following Cranston's confession, Lamont bid farewell to Spider-Man, hoping to glean something from the encounter.[1]

William Lamont managed to get Spider-Man's attention in order for him to assist him in investigating a fresh supernatural case. Although Lamont was initially skeptical about the involvement of the mafia, he eventually uncovered evidence linking Mr. Forelli to the murder of the Vegas Thirteen in the year 1957. Through a discreet microphone concealed within the suit of Spider-Man, Lamont got the confession from Forelli. Subsequently, Forelli was apprehended.[2]

On a couple more occasions, Lamont assisted Spider-Man by serving as a link between him and the police.[3][4]

As a consequence of "Civil War", Spider-Man suffered an attack in which his Aunt May was gravely injured. As a last chance, he turned to Lamont seeking protection for his family in exchange for his capture. Peter explained how much he cared for his wife and aunt. However, Lamont couldn't do anything about it. Lamont mentioned that the best thing Peter could do to protect his family was to rescue MJ. Finally, he bid farewell to Peter, giving him the address where Brady O'Brien has arrested his wife.[5]
