History
In the year 1962, William Stryker, Sr. was an agent working for the CIA alongside CIA Director John McCone. He was the father of William Stryker and the grandfather of Jason Stryker. He was present when Charles Xavier revealed the existence of mutants to the CIA. His anti-mutant bigotry was apparent through his dismissive nature of Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr; it can be assumed that, though he cared about his son, he ultimately passed his anti-mutant hatred onto him, indirectly resulting in the younger Stryker's ascendency to one of mutantkind's greatest villains.
He briefly met Emma Frost when she was incarcerated at the CIA's Headquarters. He had hoped to keep her incarcerated. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, he worked out a deal with the Soviets to attack the X-Men after the mutants revealed their presence to the warring sides in Cuba.[1]Notes
- Don Creech portrayed Stryker in X-Men: First Class.
