In the year 1962, William Stryker, Sr. was an agent working for the CIA alongside CIA Director John McCone. He was the father of William Stryker and grandfather of Jason Stryker. He was present when Charles Xavier revealed the existence of mutants to the CIA. His anti-mutant bigotry was apparent through his dismissive nature of Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr.

He briefly met Emma Frost when she was incarcerated at the CIA's Headquarters. He had hoped to keep her incarcerated. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, he worked out a deal with the Soviets to attack the X-Men after the mutants revealed their presence to the warring sides in Cuba.[1]

Don Creech portrays Stryker in X-Men: First Class.
