I see the full measure of my land and the full measure of the enemies at my walls. Because I do not play king. I am one.

Wilson Fisk[source]

History

Undisputed Kingpin of Manhatthan[]

Wilson Fisk was an affluent North American Union philanthropist and businessman, the proprietor of a number of commercial enterprises, including the newspaper Daily Bugle and Fisk Construction. Furthermore, Fisk served as the ruler of the territory of Manhattan under the purview of the secret Maker's Council, which bestowed upon him the services of a proficient marskman assassin in order to maintain control of the city.[2]

In the aftermath of the fall of the Stane/Stark Industries, he was chosen to be the "Shadow Governor" of the New York territory by Henri Dugarry, Captain Britain of the European Coalition, now controlling the part of North America. With Tony Stark being on the run and having Obadiah Stane left no heirs, Fisk also inherited the Industries, which he sold to Harry Osborn, the new C.E.O. of Oscorp Industries: Fisk hoped that Osborn would've eliminated potentially dangerous members of the company. Unknowingly to Fisk, the aquisition of Stane/Stark, made Osborn discover Iron Man's technology and the Council's role in world domination.[3] Due to this, Osborn became a green-armored masked vigilante and started targeting Fisk to permanently remove him from the picture.

Accompanied by the assassin who served as his silent bodyguard, Fisk participated in a board meeting at the Daily Bugle offices and ordered the cessation of editorial focus on the terrorist event that had occurred in the city a few months prior. This led to the resignations of editors Ben Parker and Jonah Jameson, out of ethical concerns. Subsequently, Fisk appointed board member Robbie Robertson as the new Editor-in-Chief of the Bugle. On the same day, Fisk was the victim of a car-bomb attack perpetrated by the masked assailant. However, he was unharmed, while the perpetrator managed to escape.[2]

One month later, as the masked assailant's assassination attempts became more frequent and began to attract media attention, Fisk convened a private meeting with Captain Britain; during this meeting, Dugarry questioned Fisk about the utilisation of another newly-appeared webslinging vigilante to divert attention and requested that Fisk utilise the resources he and his associates had provided him with to dispose of the two vigilantes in the city.[4]

In June 2024, Harry Osborn, now known as the Green Goblin, and the other vigilante teamed-up and broke in the Fisk Building to attack Fisk and interrogate him about his complicity in the Maker's organization of the world. He expected their arrival, since he watched thropugh security cameras the patrolling of the two in the previous weeks, and ambushed them. In the fight that followed, Kingpin almost killed the two superheroes, who barely managed to escape alive.[1]

Sinister Six[]

In July Dugarry and Fisk had another meeting: for the disappearance of his personal assassin, Captain Britain offered his lieutenant an entire team of Bullseyes to catch the vigilantes, but Fisk kindly refused, having developed his own plan to accomplish the task.[5] The following month, Kingpin tasked his assistant, James Wesley, to gather all the other criminal bosses of New York City: Mister Negative, from Queens, Black Cat from Bronx, Kraven from Staten Island, Mysterio from Brooklyn and Mole Man, who ruled the Underground and the Moloids. He proposed to all of them to form a group to eliminate the Goblin and his partner, now being called Spider-Man.[6]
