History
Like every creature found on the Beyonder's Battleworld following the events of the first Secret Wars, the Wizard was the product of the subconscious mind of the Fantastic Four's Thing,[1] the Thing had decided to remain on Battleworld [2] after discovering he could change back and forth between human and Thing forms.[3] Each of these creations were based off some aspect of Ben's memories or personality, with entirely fabricated backgrounds and origins.[1] Obviously, the Wizard was inspired by the Fantastic Four's greatest enemy, Doctor Doom.
This "Wizard" terrorized the people of a kingdom called Laann which was based off Doom's native country of Latveria. The Thing came upon the Wizard it was in a battle with two of Laann's greatest warriors Hanrak and his lover Tarianna. The Thing battled the Wizard alongside Tarianna and the couple seemingly vanquished their foe who vanished when Tarianna impaled him on a javelin.[4] When the Thing was brought to Laann he was shocked to find how closely it resembled the capital city of Doomstadt and ventured into its analogue of Castle Doom. Fighting past various creatures that defended the castle, the Thing found the Wizard in one of the castle chambers. Fighting past the Wizard, the Thing smashed a device that caused the Wizard and the entire city of Laann to vanished in a flash of light, the only thing remaining was Tarianna. Thinking that this was all part of one of Doom's schemes, the Thing and Tarianna continued on their adventure alone.[5]Attributes
