The Wobbow were a race of peaceful shapeshifters that inhabited the planet Draconius. Self-reliant and strong, they were capable of posing a threat on provocation.

History

Draconius from Iron Man Vol 6 15 003

The Wobbow's end

During a systemwide battle between the cosmically empowered Iron Man and Michael Korvac in the Wobbow home system, Draconius' star was detonated, minutes after which Korvac hurled the entirety of Draconius at Iron Man. The homeworld was shattered on impact; since the Wobbow barely had any time to evacuate after their star collapsed, they were exterminated.
Only one survivor managed to flee the planet aboard a drone, carrying a copy of the Wobbow's great history with himself. He arrived at a spaceport in the planet Satania after running out of fuel and documented the cataclysm before succumbing to his injuries and dying, rendering extinct his species.[1]

Notes

  • In Tales to Astonish #51, the Wobbow were a fabrication of Janet Van Dyne for a story to entertain veteran hospital patients, and she set the story decades into the future. In Maximum Security: Dangerous Planet #1, the Wobbow are established to be an actual race when a representative of them, Wibbow, appears as part of the Intergalactic Council.
    • Janet's fabrication of the Wobbow differs from their traits established in Iron Man (Vol. 6) #15; her story established them as dangerous creatures who shapeshift to bait their enemies. In the Iron Man issue, the Wobbow are allegedly mostly peaceful, only turning violent in retaliation.
