Synopsis for "Bedazzled"
When the word "Die!" is found mystertiously painted in her dressing room, Alison Blaire, aka pop sensation Dazzler makes a visit to her good friend Charles Xavier and his team of extraordinary X-Men. Charles suggests she stay at the mansion until the source of the threat could be uncovered, but when Alison insists she must attend her performance for the Mega-Bowl halftime show, Wolverine is assigned to her protection detail. Unfortunately, the pairing immediately butt heads, and Kitty as well as Theresea Cassidy (currently at the tail end of her first visit to the mansion) are quickly added onto the team.
Kitty begins to feel jealousy towards 'Terry' after she is selected to replace a backup singer who had to call out sick. She feels further alienated when Terry, Logan and Alison all manage to bond over predicitons for the upcoming football game. It all comes to a head when, during the performance, Kitty spots a man approaching the stage while reaching into his jacket pocket. She fears that his forward approach paired with his thick sunglasses clearly mean he's the attacker they've been waiting for and warns the rest of her team. Wolverine cues Siryn to amplify Dazzler's light powers with her own sonic scream, which stuns their target while also blinding viewers in the audience and at home alike.
Unfortunately, the would-be attacker only wanted to illegally record the show, and Kitty goes as far as to accuse Dazzler's manager of writing the original threat herself. Its at that moment that the manager's disgrunteld exboyfriend throws a pie directly into Alison's face and screams out that he's fufilled his painted promise ("I wrote 'Pie', not 'Die'...I ran out of room..."). Logan reassures Kitty that making bad calls is part of the job, but that he knows she will learn from her mistakes. Kitty then clears the tension between Terry and herself before the trio of X-Men head back home.
