Synopsis for ""Save the Tiger" (Part I of X) - The Good Guy"
Wolverine discovers a man named Dave Chapel, who dies of wounds suffered at the hands of a crime lord from Madripoor named Roche. Wolverine travels to Madripoor and visits a run down pub called the Princess Bar. He finds several of Roche's enforcers muscling the club's owner O'Donnell for protection money. Wolverine fights the thugs and sends them packing.
Afterwards, he introduces himself to O'Donnell and a patron named Sapphire Styx. O'Donnell asks him why he has come to Madripoor. Wolverine tells him that Dave Chapel's dying words were to "save the Tiger". Upon hearing this, O'Donnell and Sapphire draw their weapons on Wolverine.

Synopsis for "Save the Tiger (Part II of X) - The Bad Guy!"
Madripoor crimelord Mr. Roche hires Razorfist to succeed where his goons failed, to first take care of Wolverine before he can interfere any more and then his new rival, the Tiger. Back at the bar, Wolverine spots a mysterious woman watching him and then darting off into the night. Chasing her down on a hunch, he gets a good look at her and is shocked to recognize her as Jessán Hoan.

Synopsis for "Save the Tiger (Part III of X): The Gals"
Wolverine is too shocked that the woman he followed through the streets of Madripoor was Jessán Hoan that he's not prepared when she demonstrates much more fighting skill and viciousness than he'd expect from a financial analyst to get away from him. He can't help but laugh as he picks himself up when Sapphire, a woman from the bar catches up with him. She's tries to seduce Wolverine, but his instincts tell him it would be a bad idea. When she realizes she isn't getting anywhere, she steals a kiss, which leaves Wolverine nearly incapacitated by her powers. He struggles to get away but is ambushed by Razorfist. Sapphire Styx reveals to Wolverine as he's losing consciousness that she's going to turn him over to Roche.

Synopsis for ""Save the Tiger" (Part IV of X) - The Ordeal"
Wolverine has been taken to Roche's abattoir. Sapphire Styx and Roche's inquisitor torture Wolverine in an effort to learn the identity of the Tiger. But Wolverine tells them nothing. They leave him be with the intention of resuming their interrogation the following morning.
Wolverine pops his claws and frees himself and stumbles outside into the jungle. But Razorfist is there waiting for him. Wolverine is still too weakened from Sapphire's kiss to put up much of a fight. Razorfist skewers him and throws him off a waterfall.

Synopsis for ""Save the Tiger" (Part V of X) - The Rescue"
Roche has kicked Wolverine off a cliff into the river. He is floating delirious down towards Madripoor harbor. In his delusion, he envisions himself being tormented by Roche, Sapphire Styx and Razorfist.
Before long, Jessan Hoan finds him and brings him aboard a small wooden boat. At first, Wolverine believes he is facing his love, Mariko. Within a day or so, he heals from the various wounds that have affected his body. Although Jessan has no cause to remember him, she nevertheless refers to him by name – Wolverine.

Synopsis for ""Save the Tiger" (Part VI of X) - Things Get Bad"
Hoan explains to Wolverine how she became the Tyger when the Reavers partially brainwashed her and she returned home to find her bank business ruined. She found out Roche was behind the Reavers' attack and her subsequent blacklisting, so she went to Madripoor to dethrone Roche as the local crimelord. Wolverine points out that he fights crimelords, but she responds that he's honor bound to her for saving his life. They board a boat associated with the Tyger to find its crew slaughtered with signs pointing to Razorfist. The sound of one bound survivor draws Hoan into the cabin only to find it trapped with explosives. The boat goes up in flames with Wolverine and Hoan on it.

Synopsis for ""Save the Tiger" (Part VII of X) - Things Get Worse"
Wolverine rescues Hoan from the trapped boat and gets them both to shore. Hoan acknowledges that in doing so, Wolverine has paid his debt to her, but he decides to stick with her to take down Roche, but warns her that if she really tries to take his place, she'll end the same way. They find and defeat more of Roche's thugs as they're going around punishing businesses allied with the Tiger. It's from one of the captured thugs that they find out that Roche has taken Hoan's friend O'Donnel under suspicion of being the Tiger.

Wolverine and Jessan Hoan sneak into Roche's walled compound. Wolverine decides to take the more direct route allowing Jessan the ability to sneak in the back way. Roche’s Dobermans sniff out Wolverine's scent, but he scares them off. Unfortunately, the noise brings Roche's henchmen to bear. Wolverine fights with the gun-toting goons while Jessan succeeds in infiltrating the compound.
She finds O'Donnell who has been tortured mercilessly. Bursting into the room she shoots Sapphire Styx. But the Inquisitor comes up behind her and snakes his whip around her neck.

While Wolverine duels with Razorfist, Tiger struggles against the Inquisitor and Sapphire Styx. Though Jessán loses a lot of energy to Styx's power, she drives her away by burning her face with the Inquisitor's hot poker. After Wolverine gets through Razorfist's defenses to deliver the killing blow, he moves on to find Roche.
