History

Mutation of Humanity[]

The early life and history of Wong mirrors that of his Earth-616 counterpart.

Wong served for many years as the faithful servant of Dr. Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme. When mankind began to mutate en masse due to the release of the Terrigen Mist, Wong found his body split into two halves, one the manifestation of his resentments and darker impulses. This half of Wong began to control his actions, and entered into a pact with Mephisto. In exchange for his servitude, Mephisto would give Wong a world of his own to rule.[1]

Following Mephisto's instructions, Wong used a combination of magic and simple suggestion to turn Strange's disciple Clea against him. He drove her into the arms of the Asgardian trickster Loki, and the two assassinated Strange's astral form, leaving him catatonic in the land of the living and powerless in the Realm of the Dead.[1][2]

Still hiding his condition, Wong ostensibly continued to serve Clea and to care for Strange's catatonic body, all the while hiding his true allegiance.[2]

Earth X[]

When Bruce Banner and Thor visited Clea to seek out her help in contacting deceased hero Mar-Vell, she guided Bruce's alter-ego the Hulk in entering the Realm of the Dead. Rather than finding Mar-Vell, he instead stumbled upon Strange, who warned them of Clea's treachery.[2][3]

While Clea initially trapped Thor and the Hulk in the Realm, leaving a powerless Bruce at her and Loki's mercy, Strange helped the two escape. Backed into a corner, and abandoned by Loki, Clea attempted to destroy the city rather than allow herself to be captured, prompting Thor to banish her to Asgard.[4]

Universe X[]

With Clea gone, Wong transported Strange's body to Japan, under the care of Xen. Wong stepped up his operations on Mephisto's behalf. Under the alias "Red Ronin", Wong led the Tong of Creel, a group in service of Death dedicated to reassembling history's greatest mass-murderer, the Absorbing Man.[1]

The Tong also captured Eve, the mate of Adam Warlock, stealing her away after she gave birth to the reborn Mar-Vell.[5] The Tong of Creel eventually succeeded in stealing all the pieces of the Absorbing Man and reassembled him in New York City, where he immediately began unleashing chaos.[6]

Meanwhile, Adam Warlock finally found his kidnapped wife, coming upon Wong in the process. The two fought, and Wong's treachery was exposed. Wong's good side begged Adam for death. Adam obliged, killing Wong and ending his evil and his misery.[1]

Attributes

Powers

Wong presumably has the same abilities as his Earth-616 counterpart. He has at least enough mystical knowledge to cast a simple love spell, which made Clea fall in love with Loki. Due to his exposure to the Terrigen Mists, Wong has mutated into the appearance of conjoined twins that are attached at the waist. Each with their distinct personality. Wong also had an awareness that he was being watched by Kyle Richmond. If this was a magical ability or caused by his mutation, remains to be explained.
