Woodward Himes was a Philadelphia-based businessman and philanthropist, publicly involved in improving the poorer communities. Secretly, he was the kingpin of the city's largest drug ring, laundering the money through real estate, and protected by a web of secrecy.
Luke Cage brought about his downfall by destroying a key shipment of heroin, and giving all the buyers Himes' name and office number, forcing Himes to turn himself into the police in order to receive protection from all the other angry drug dealers.[1]
