The World Farm is an artificial, miniature planetary system located in the space between galaxies and home to the Progenitors.[2][3] It consists of a Center-Sun and three rings of orbiting planets (and their moons) contained inside tubes. The Progenitors maintain the worlds and use them for different purposes, like farming Primagen or computing.[4][1][5]
The processing power of the World Farm is vast and the possibilities that are open to its overlord (usually an Overlord-Class Progenitor) are thereotically limitless.[1]
History
Intrigued by the Inhumans,[6] the Progenitors developed the Skyspears.[7] The Inhumans of Earth visited the World Farm after tracing the Skyspears' origin, but their presence disrupted the system and the Progenitors attacked them. The Inhumans managed to escape and they cracked one of the planets in the process.[4]
Later, Orbis Stellaris took over the World Farm and its Progenitors and installed himself as their new Overlord.[8] After the Progenitors stole Cable's Techno-Organic Virus,[3] Cable had Manifold track down its location, which led them to the World Farm. There, Orbis Stellaris revealed himself as the Overlord of the Progenitors, complete with piloting an Overlord-Class Progenitor's body.[8]
Alternate Universe Versions[]
Sins of Sinister (Moira VII.1)[]
Orbis Stellaris attempted to use the Progenitors and their World Farm to achieve Dominion-status.[1] Over the course of a century, he built a giant Death Sphere to encase the World Farm while the Progenitors worked on achieving his goals. However, Storm, boosted by Khora, used magic and mutation to teleport the World Farm away from the Death Sphere at the cost of her life. The rest of her Brotherhood of Mutants erased Orbis Stellaris' orders, and without an Overlord to command them, the Progenitors returned to maintaining their artificial planets. The Brotherhood claimed the Center-Sun as their new fortress.[5] Nine hundred years later, Emma Frost found them and attacked with an army of chimeras in a pitched battle that ended with both sides being wiped out.[9]Points of Interest

Notes
- In terms of universal societies, the World Farm is on the level of a Stronghold. Orbis Stellaris is using it to reach Dominion-status.[1]
- Both Nova and Abigail Brand say that the Progenitors live on artificial "solar systems" (plural), implying there are multiple World Farms.[2][3]
- Both the planets and the sun are stated to be artificial.[5]
Trivia
- According to Marvel Boy, the World Farm's "brain" is the "ultimate computer." The Progenitors build quantum computers the size of molecules and then use them to build solids, liquids, and gases. In other words, even the air is part of the computer.[12]
