—Builder[source]This vessel is a World Killer--its purpose, its name. And its cause...is virtuous. You must know by now that the Earth is the axis point for the death of everything...you must know what conclusion must be drawn by this fact.
World Killers are planet-destroying spaceships of the Builders. The Builders used them in their attempt to save the Multiverse from the incursions by destroying Earths, thus eliminating the incursion points,[3] though the local Builders of Earth-616 also used them to subjugate many planets on their way to Earth during the Builder War.[4]
History
Infinity[]
The World Killers were worldships, the most powerful warships that the Builders possessed. During the Builder War, there were twelve the World Killers within the Builder Armada. Its primary weapon fired an energy blast that destroyed worlds, leaving only cosmic dust. Nearly all of them were destroyed by the combined forces of the Galactic Council and the Avengers, with one of them seized by Earth's heroes.[5]
When an incursion occured between Earth-616 and Earth-13131, the latter's Builders used their World Killer to destroy the Earth, thus stopping the incursion. The Builders revealed to the Illuminati that they intended to destroy all Earths in the Multiverse to stabilize it from the incursions, but their World Killer was too big to travel through the incursion wall, so they asked the Illuminati to destroy their own Earth.[3]
Time Runs Out[]
Due to the threat of the incursions, the Galactic Council led by the Shi'ar approached the Earth to destroy it. The stolen Planetkiller was activated by the Avengers after its controller had been handed over to them by Reed Richards. The Planetkiller was successful in reducing the Shi'ar fleet, but it was ultimately destroyed by the Annihilation Wave.[2]See Also
