Synopsis for "Reaching Out To Yesterday"
Alex Summers visits the Alaskan coast as a way to find solace and control when his life feels overwhelming. Surprisongly, his brother Scott appears and offers his support, indicating that he's there to help Alex through his struggles. At first, Alex leaves angrily, but in a bar both brothers reconnect and end up fighting some locals.
In Falls' Edge, Virginia, X-Factor now operates from a former safe house. A person who appears to be Forge enters the base and attempts to access information about the Mystique inhibitor device. However, it turns out to be Mystique herself, who uses her shapeshifting abilities to mimic Forge's appearance. Her attempt fails due to the implanted inhibitor in her brain that restricts her ability to change into certain individuals for more than 30 seconds.
Wild Child confronts Mystique about what he witnessed, and she convinces him not to reveal her actions. Meanwhile, Forge is shown meditating in a holographic environment, and he experiences a vision of his mentor Naze. Naze urges Forge to embrace his destiny, but Mystique interrupts him before he can fully understand the message. Later, Mystique questions Forge about Naze and his holographic programs, attempting to manipulate him emotionally.
In another location, the Dark Beast has plans involving an amorphous grey mass he calls Random - and once again it is about Alex Summers .
