Synopsis for "Adversaries"
Haven runs from her own child's ominous voice as it seeks release during a violent storm. She pleads for help from the powerful sorceress Roma, who informs her that Haven's actions may have inadvertently allowed a great evil, known as the Adversary, to enter their dimension, potentially bringing about the destruction of humanity.
Meanwhile, X-Factor faces an attack by a Sentinel at their new base of operations. The team struggles to combat this unexpected threat, and tensions rise among the members. The Sentinel's presence raises questions about how it found their hidden location.
In the background, Random monitors the fight. And through a camera in Random's glasses, the sinister Dark Beast watches the scenes as well and waits, until Random can continue with a plan involving Havok.
After defeating the Sentinel, which actually was set up by Forge as a training exercise, X-Factor members go about their routines. Havok receives an enigmatic letter signed by someone named Scarlet. Aware that this might be a trap, he leaves the base to investigate alone. As Alex arrives at the meeting point, he encounters Random. The mercenary and former ally of X-Factor claims that the situation is about survival, but Havok prepares for a fierce battle, neither aware of the true intentions behind this confrontation.
Elsewhere, the shaman Naze senses the resurgence of the Adversary, an ancient and malevolent force, and seeks the help of Roma. Naze also mentions that his student Forge will play a role in the upcoming battle.
