Synopsis for "The Ticking Clock"
In an abandoned Brand Corporation factory in New Jersey, Onslaught confronts the Dark Beast. As Onslaught probes McCoy's mind, Fatale attacks but is easily defeated. McCoy reveals there's an agent in X-Factor, prompting Onslaught to use McCoy and his followers.
At X-Factor's base, a reactivated Sentinel attacks. Polaris, Forge, Mystique, and Random engage it. Forge built a failsafe into the Sentinel which was meant for training excercise, but it malfunctioned. Mystique is sent to retrieve Sabretooth from the basement. Creed agrees to help, but suddenly Fatale appears and teleports them both away.
Fatale also steals the Sentinel from X-Factor. The team, unable to contact the X-Men, tracks the Sentinel's energy signature. Arriving at the factory, they encounter not only Fatale, but also a brainwashed Havok. Polaris is deeply shocked by the reapperance of Alex but he is totally unresponsive to her appeals.
Random, revealed to be working with Fatale, hesitates to kill X-Factor. Within the building, Forge discovers dozens of Sentinels programmed to attack humans. He is attacked by Post, one of Onslaught's heralds. As Havok blasts Random, the bounty hunter transforms into a teenager because he cannot keep his body structure intact. Polaris captures Havok in a magnetic field, urging him to resist brainwashing. But despite X-Factor's best efforts, the Sentinels are launched to attack the human population of New York City, signaling Onslaught's plan is in motion.

Synopsis for "Free Fall"
Sabretooth and Mystique are falling after being teleported out of the X-Factor HQ by Fatale. Mystique shapeshifts to save herself by gripping a wall, while Sabretooth holds onto her leg. Mystique threatens to shoot him, but he refuses to let go. Suddenly, a rope is thrown to them, and they climb up to find their rescuer, who turns out to be the Dark Beast.
McCoy leads them to a chamber equipped with various screens which show Havok, Onslaught, and the real Beast. He introduces himself as a superior version of Beast allied with Onslaught and offers them a chance to join. To prove his intent, McCoy has Forge teleported to them and disables the inhibitors on Sabretooth and Mystique. He then offers Forge as a victim for them to kill to prove their loyalty.
Instead of attacking Forge, Mystique and Sabretooth turn on McCoy. They fight him, and Mystique frees Forge. McCoy manages to escape momentarily, but Sabretooth holds him at claw-point, threatening his life. McCoy releases his captives, and Sabretooth knocks him down. Forge stops Sabretooth from killing McCoy, arguing they need information. McCoy, before being teleported away by Fatale, warns them they are too late to find the real Beast.
