Synopsis for 1st story

Jubilee is upset that she can't go to the Inner Circle Gala, a big party on Krakoa where select outsiders, aka other superheroes, are invited to Krakoa for the first time. As superheroes mingle, Jean and Cyclops announce that Krakoa is changing its X-Men roster, with every X-Man chosen by a psychic vote. While the vote is going on, Sabretooth goes to see Mr. Sinister, who had hired him to look into Krakoa's secrets. However, Sabretooth instead finds Mr. Sinister tied up by Beast, who has ambitious plans for Krakoa now that his resurrection has freed him of morals.

Back at the Gala, the new X-Men team is chosen, consisting of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Rogue, Feral, Sunfire, Random, and Polaris. Then to finish the Gala off, Jean harnesses the power of the Phoenix Force for creation instead of destruction, and works with some other powerful mutants to create Asteroid X, a space habitat for the mutants of Arakko. Wolverine tells Cyclops that the Phoenix Force is trouble and that he's becoming rotten.

At Orchis HQ, Trask, in the body of a Sentinel, claims that mutants are better than humans, which means the only thing left to stop the mutants is the machines. Trask then proceeds to kill the rest of Orchis before making his way towards Earth. Meanwhile, having stormed off from the Gala, Wolverine catches Sabretooth's scent and tracks it to Jubilee's hiding ground. There, he finds that Beast, Sabretooth, and the other mutants resurrected from Arkon's realm have captured Jubilee and know her secret.
