History
The X-Men's history is presumably similar to their Prime Marvel Universe. The X-Men and several other mutants went after Mister Sinister after he assassinated several members of the Quiet Council of Krakoa.[1]
However, Sinister was successful in corrupting several key members of the Quiet Council. Mister Sinister and his accomplices on the council then began to slowly spread their corruption to the rest of Krakoan society, with plans to eventually conquer the world.
One of their first moves was to extend the Resurrection Protocols to humanity by offering artificial X-Gene implants. They then used an orbital laser to lobotomize Krakoa and framing Orchis for the attack. Since this disrupted the Resurrection Protocols, the world united against Orchis, X-Men were joined by the Avengers and Fantastic Four in destroying Sol's Hammer and Nimrod, scattering Orchis to the wind.
In the wake of this victory, the Avengers were convinced to enter the Resurrection Protocols themselves, compromising its human primaries. The Avengers were pushed into increasingly extreme, antisocial and malevolent actions, which climaxed in war when Captain America seized control of the United States Government after murdering the sitting president. The Avengers were defeated by the X-Men, who usurped their place as Earth's mightiest heroes.[2]See Also
