Synopsis for "Broken Borders"
Cyclops communicates via hologram with the Fantastic Four, assuring them that mutants are not responsible for the disappearance of Franklin and Valeria Richards. When Cyclops mentions that Valeria would not be welcome on Krakoa either, Sue Richards becomes furious. Cyclops, standing beside Magneto, warns him that this will become a problem.
Meanwhile, Kate Pryde wakes up at a banquet table where Doctor Doom is seated with Franklin and Valeria. Doom had attacked the Marauders and apparently overpowered them with ease. He assures Kate that her teammates are safe and explains that the Marauders' new mission had led them to "Doom Island." Here, Doom has taken in the mutants of Latveria and now plans to help Franklin regain control of his powers.
On Krakoa, the Quiet Council is informed by Multiple Man that the Marauder was found near the coast of Japan, but without its crew. Professor X manages to triangulate the Marauders' original destination, and Magneto wants to assemble a team immediately. However, Cyclops prefers to focus on defending Krakoa, knowing that the Fantastic Four will likely come for them. Indeed, the Fantastic Four are already among them, hidden by Sue's powers and special suits. A battle breaks out, even though Reed and his team overheard that Franklin and Valeria are not on Krakoa. The four heroes eventually flee, but Professor X is determined not to let them escape so easily. Additionally, Cyclops is instructed to assemble a team to find the Marauders.
On Doom Island, Kate is finally reunited with her teammates. She explains that Doom plans to help Franklin, provided they cooperate. However, Doom is also aware that mutants will soon arrive on the island, and he is preparing to greet them with Sentinels of his own design.
