Synopsis for "The Blob"

In civilian clothes Fred Dukes attends a New Mexico rodeo, hoping to lay low away from the X-Men and Magneto. Nearby, some cowboys bully a boy named Lonnie Ranger, causing him to spill a beverage on Dukes's head. The Blob gets angry and threatens the men, who try to fight him, lasso him, shoot him, and drive a steer directly into him, but none of it has any effect except to make him angrier. When he starts tearing the bleachers down, the bullied kid stands up to him and says he can't destroy the town because there are plenty of innocent people there. The Blob wonders how the kid thinks he can stop him. The kid bets him that he can do something the Blob can’t, and if he's right the Blob must stand down. Intrigued, the Blob agrees. The kid promptly touches the Blob's toes. The Blob laughs and decides to take the kid out for a drink.

A carny shows off his main attraction to a new hire: a partially deactivated Sentinel he calls Metallak. The new hire says he’s good with machines and can bring it completely online. Days later the carny shows him off to a sizable crowd and uses his powers of persuasion to make them all give money; the new hire keeps working on the robot, planning to steal him once he’s operational. When the Sentinel comes online, however, it recognizes the new hire as a mutant with a supernatural mechanical aptitude and obliterates him. The carny rushes in, but is also recognized as a mutant and instantly killed. Widening the range of its scan, the Sentinel registers mutant activity eight miles away in New York City, and sets off in that direction.

Synopsis for "The Sport of Queens"

At the Hellfire Club headquarters, Selene grows bored watching world events unfold and is unenthused by Emma Frost’s suggestions for entertainment. Both women become intrigued by a handsome, muscular new Hellfire Club soldier named Chet, and Emma wagers Selene that Selene can’t make him declare love to her first. Selene agrees, and over the next few weeks, both women take Chet out to high-class restuarants, expensive trips around the world, and expose him to the inner circles of the Hellfire Club, unaware that Chet is planning on using the information he’s gained from them to become a super-villain. Emma accuses Selene of taking things too far when she exposes top-secret information and technology to the dim-witted soldier, but Selene counters that Emma has been doing the same thing. They agree to henceforth do whatever it takes to win, with Selene using her magic and Emma using her mutant powers to compel his love. They unwittingly bring him to the same place at the same time, renewing their quarrel. Chet, meanwhile, under increasing pressure from both magic and mental manipulation, literally explodes in front of them. Selene concedes that Emma has technically won, because Chet cannot now declare his love for Selene (or anyone else). They depart, leaving the wait staff to clean up the mess.
