Synopsis for "Curse of the Mutants, Part 1"

While Pixie and Jubilee hang out at in Union Square, a biological suicide bomber explodes nearby, coating the area and Jubilee in blood. Later on Utopia Dr. Nemesis discovers that Jubilee has been infected with vampire blood that will slowly over take her. Meanwhile vampire attacks and the mindless infected start springing up across Los Angeles. Scott sends Wolverine, Angel, and Pixie on a scouting mission where they discover a warehouse full of weapons and corpses being drained for blood. A female vampire mentions the 'lord of vampires' before Wolverine kills her, leading Cyclops to convene a war council, believing this new vampiric threat to be the work of Lord Dracula.

Solicit Synopsis

“MUTANTS VERSUS VAMPIRES,” PART 1 When a suicide bomber strikes in downtown San Francisco, it gets the immediate attention of the X-Men. But this is not your garden variety terrorist – and he’s not acting alone. Vampires from around the globe are descending en masse on the City by the Bay, staking a brutal claim for the patch of land the X-Men call their home. What is their agenda? Who is their mysterious leader? The X-Men are about to find out, as they brace themselves for a war of the species that will wrack the Marvel Universe.

• Storm was bitten by Dracula and briefly became a vampire in Uncanny X-Men Vol 1 159.
