Synopsis for "Back From the Dead (Part 3): Homeland Defense!"
In Texas, some years earlier, Spike attended the speech of a man named Mister Code.
In the present, outside of a Florida shopping mall, a young man named Wayne attempted to discard food that his mother bought but he considered to not be nutritious before she, along with fourteen others, were shot dead with similar incidents happening in Denver and San Francisco. Although the string of shootings caused hysteria, the Secretary of Homeland Defense Ed Wolfman appeared on television and ordered viewers not to panic while Mister Code watched. As X-Statix was watching Wolfman speak, Spike brought up killing Henrietta, who was on a yacht in the Caribbean. X-Statix teleported onto the yacht, in front of her, and told her that they were going to kill her before Lacuna revealed herself and also that she had also used Venus to teleport to the yacht. Lacuna vouched for Henrietta, believing that she stood for women who were used before being thrown aside when they started to grow.
Later, X-Statix contemplated not killing Henrietta, as they went on a mission with her to rescue a reality TV show cast and crew that was kidnapped by the Taliban in Afghanistan. Billy-Bob stood in the way of an explosive that almost hit Henrietta and he deflected it, saving her life and causing it to hit El Guapo, instead, crippling him. After the mission, Tike lashed out at Billy-Bob for saving Henrietta and the latter argued with the former and Myles about El Guapo before Guy broke them up and declared that if they weren't careful, Henrietta would destroy X-Statix.
In Milwaukee, two civilians were shot while talking about Henrietta and on the news, Wolfman claimed that he "tried" to protect people and urged X-Statix to help. Guy opposed intervening in the string of shootings, although the decision was Henrietta's, so X-Statix held a press conference in which she declared that she would take over the role of Homeland Defense and that they would put an end to the random killings.
