History

Xaos was part of a plan by Salomé to get Doctor Strange and Wong to turn against each other. When Wong's fiancée, Imei Chang, died, Salomé made Wong believe she had revived Imei by placing her spirit in the body of Xaos. In reality, however, Strange had simply-used a "soul-echo" to animate Xaos, and the real Imei was truly gone.

Wong was refusing to see the truth and thus Strange destroyed Xaos. After this, unable to see his friend in such despair, Strange arranged for Wong to meet Imei's real spirit and bid a final farewell.
