Professor Xyk was a Martian scientist who invited two Earth scientists, Dr. Bryan Hoskins and Professor Lister, to travel with his spaceship to his planet. Upon reaching Mars, the three scientists began a discussion where Hoskins declared that if he could raise a Martian child on Earth he could turn it into a perfect Earthman, but Professor Lister replied that it was not possible. At this point, Professor Xyk offered Dr. Hoskins the opportunity to continue the experiment, telling him that he could adopt a Martian baby from their orphanage and bring it to Earth where it would be raised as an Earthling. Dr. Hoskins then took a baby girl, brought her to Earth, and succeeded in his experiment perfectly.[1]
