History
Yondar was a young Centaurian who left her world to explore the stars. During her travels, she noticed that some planets had been ravaged by the criminal organization known as the Spoilers, but didn't bother to warn anyone about them. She would come to deeply regret this as when she returned home she found it completely destroyed by the Spoilers, with her entire colony dead.[2] She decided to hunt them down for what they did, and ravaging through the ruins they left behind found a piece of a Flora colossi bark.
Yondar traced the bark to Planet X where she searched for the Spoilers. She tried to communicate with the Flora colossi elders but they were unwilling to speak out of fear and shame due their home being the lair of the Spoilers. During her hunt, she came across three Flora colossi saplings, Groot, Tweeg and Gleef, and their companions Kree Starforce members Captain So-Lar and Private Mar-Vell, who were being attacked by the Spoilers' Chainsaurs. Yondar came to their rescue and managed to take down several Chainsaurs, but So-Lar had already perished. She explained to the group about the Spoilers, and added that they were unable to alert the other worlds about the criminals' presence on Planet X due to the Spoilers blocking out any signal emission.
At Groot's suggestion, the group decided to venture into the Deadwoods, a forbidden area ridden with decay and disease. However, they were once again ambushed by the Chainsaurs who this time had the upper hand.[1] The group split, with an injuried Yondar fleeing to safety, while Mar-Vell, Tweeg and Gleef were captured by the Spoilers' leader, a sick Flora colossi named Agz. Yondar lost all determination she had to hunt the Spoilers down, but was healed by Groot who encouraged her to keep fighting. The two decided to meet the Flora colossi matriarch, Granopy, to ask her for help. Both Yondar and Groot pleaded her to help them, and as the latter screamed at her, Granopy magnified his scream enough to reach the Kree Army.[2]
With that task done, Yondar and Groot went back to the Deadwoods to rescue their friends. They were able to reunite with Mar-Vell, Tweeg and Gleef as they were being chased by the Chainsaurs, and together they fought their attackers. Despite their best efforts they were slowly losing the battle. Luckily, the Kree Army arrived just in time to bombard the Deadwoods, crippling the Spoilers and saving the group. Agz was successfully captured, but as the Kree surrounded the planet Yondar argued with Colonel Yon-Rogg that Planet X should be left alone to heal itself. It took Mar-Vell to convince Yon-Rogg to deem Planet X a preserved world. With the threat of the Spoilers finally quelched, Yondar and Mar-Vell bid Groot and his fellow saplings farewell and soon departed from Planet X.[3]Attributes
