Synopsis for "2: Electric You-Galoo"

Opening[]

Panels 1-5: Deadpool emerges from the timestream and finds himself in early 1961. A rude passerby explains what's currently happening, and Deadpool discovers the TVA time helmet is at 1% battery. He wonders aloud how he could recharge it, and the helmet answers it can be recharged in various ways. It cites emotional stimulation and radiation as examples, but before it could name any more ways, the battery goes dead. Go to panel 21.

Panel 21: As Deadpool puts the time helmet away in his special non-inventory pouch, he suffers deja vu.

Panels 22-24: Deadpool wonders how to recharge the battery, warning the player that they're not allowed to do it ahead of the story using outside knowledge. Regarding sources of radiation that can recharge the battery, either go to panel 31 for cosmic rays, or panel 25 for gamma rays. Alternatively, to recharge through emotion, go to panel 14 to use poetry, or go to panel 15 to use paintings.

Recharging the time helmet with cosmic radiation[]

Panel 31: Deadpool arrives at the launch site of the Marvel-1 rocket, and ponders a way to get on the rocket. Go to panel 62 to sneak in, or panel 7 to fight the guards. If the "4" chest symbol from Issue 1, Panel 62 is in your inventory, go to panel 76.

Panel 62 Deadpool is surprised by how easy it is to sneak past security, since the ship's crew were able to steal the spaceship without issue. Add +1 to the Badness Score and go to panel 47.

Panels 76-78: Deadpool asks the guards to let him in by presenting the "4" chest symbol. The guards don't recognize it, leading Deadpool to realize the Fantastic Four doesn't exist yet. As the guards identify Deadpool as an intruder, go to panel 7.

Panel 7: Using his fists, Deadpool takes on the guards (2D6). Add +1 to the Badness Score and go to panel 47 if Deadpool wins, or back to panel 22 if the guards win.

Panels 47-56: Deadpool successfully stows away on the Marvel-1, and as the cosmic rays penetrate the ship, he takes the opportunity to recharge the time helmet's battery. The ship subsequently crash lands back on Earth, and Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm emerge as the Thing and the Human Torch, while their two cohorts refuse to be identified or show themselves on-panel. As for Deadpool, he quietly sneaks away from "the (Redacted) Four". Go to panel 83.

Recharging the time helmet with gamma radiation[]

Panels 25, 26: Deadpool appears in a New Mexico desert, witnessing Rick Jones being dared to trespass on Gamma Base. Go to panel 64 to stow away, or panel 6 to hijack Rick's car.

Panels 64-66: As Deadpool hides in the car, Rick plays Ricky Valance's "Tell Laura I Love Her" on his harmonica, driving Deadpool to tears. Add +1 to the Sadness Score and go to panel 67.

Panel 6: Deadpool threatens to kill the player in case they were reading on from panel 5 instead of following the caption there. Then he tells Rick to take him to Gamma Base or die. Add +1 to the Badness Score and go to panel 67.

Panel 67-75: Deadpool and Rick are now at the Gamma Bomb test site, and Dr. Bruce Banner arrives to move them to safety. However, Deadpool refuses to go into the trench with Rick, and Banner assumes Deadpool's a Communist spy based on his red suit and his knowledge of the bomb. Soon the bomb goes off, and the radiation transforms Banner into the Incredible Hulk (4D6), whose green appearance causes Deadpool to worry that his time-travelling is affecting history. If the anti-monster gas is in your inventory, go to panel 11. Otherwise, if you win the battle, go to panel 13. If you lose, go to panel 32.

Panels 11, 12: Deadpool uses the anti-monster gas on the Hulk, defeating him without a fight.

Panel 13: With the time helmet recharged and the Hulk defeated, Deadpool picks up a *Gem. Go to panel 83.

Panels 32-34: Although the time helmet has been recharged with gamma rays, Deadpool can't operate it at the moment due to being dismembered by the Hulk. Suddenly, he hears a warning siren. Go to panel 81.

Panel 81: Thanks to Deadpool's meddling with time, the Cuban Missile Crisis occurs early, wiping out all life on earth. The end.

Recharging the time helmet with poetry[]

Panels 14, 15: Deadpool arrives at the Coffee-A-Go-Go, ready to deliver poetry. However, the bouncer charges five bucks for entry. If five bucks in 1961 money from Panel 3 is in your inventory, go to panel 40. Otherwise, go to panel 82.

Panel 82: The bouncer (1D6) gets distracted by the nuclear war in the panel above. Go to panel 40 if Deadpool wins, or back to panel 22 if the bouncer wins.

Panels 40-43: Deadpool enters the club and challenges Bernard the Poet to the Poetry Minigame. If you have the Dictaphone from Issue 1, Panel 62 in your inventory, go to panel 44 to skip the minigame. Otherwise, go to panel 45 if Deadpool wins, or back to panel 22 if he fails. You can earn up to +2 to the Badness Score, up to +4 to the Sadness Score, or even +1 Badness and up to +2 Sadness playing the minigame.

Panel 44: Using the Dictaphone, Deadpool cheats by playing a memo from Dario Agger to the audience as free verse. Add +1 to the Badness Score.

Panel 45, 46: Having been won over, Bernard gives Deadpool his prize: a 43 record of "Kookie Kookie (Lend Me Your Comb)" by Edd Byrnes. Go to Panel 83.

Recharging the time helmet with paintings[]

Panels 16-20: Deciding to go painting, Deadpool checks the newsstand to see what's up and coming in 1961. Inspiration strikes him as he gets the idea to make pop art out of an old comic panel. Go to panel 38 if you want to use "Voyage Into Oddity", or panel 36 if you want to use "Gerry Gerbil".

Panels 38, 39: Selecting a panel from "Voyage Into Oddity", Deadpool organizes a gallery show to exhibit it, only for someone to order it shut down. Go to panel 8.

Panels 8-10: It turns out Deadpool had been infringing on the copyright of "Voyage Into Oddity"'s hero, the Silver Age Grasshopper (3D6). Go to panel 63 if Deadpool wins, or panel 80 if he loses.

Panel 63: Deadpool kills the Grasshopper, and the reveal of the latter's secret identity as Brad (mispelled as Brett) Bailey causes his girlfriend Janey to lose control of her weak bladder. Add +1 to the Sadness Score and go to panel 83.

Panel 80: The Grasshopper defeats Deadpool. Go back to panel 22.

Panels 36, 37: Selecting a panel from "Gerry Gerbil", Deadpool organizes a gallery show to exhibit it, only for someone to order it shut down. Go to panel 57.

Panel 57-61: The Gerry Gerbil Corporation's legal team (3D6) accuses Deadpool of infringing on their copyright. Deadpool argues that he had been appropriating it as art, only to be shocked by the head lawyer breaking the fourth wall (despite being a minor character) by pointing out they're in a comic book, not the physical world. If the legal textbook is in your inventory, go to panel 27. Otherwise, go to panel 35 if Deadpool wins the fight against the lawyers, or panel 79 if he loses.

Panel 27-30: Using the legal textbook, Deadpool argues his actions are fair use as a parody/satire character, and that Gerry Gerbil is a stand-in for "the Mouse", leaving Deadpool free to rip him off. The lawyers leave, defeated. Add +1 to the Badness Score and go to panel 83.

Panel 35: Deadpool kills the lawyers. Add +2 to the Badness Score and go to panel 83.

Panel 79: The lawyers defeat Deadpool. Go back to panel 22.

Ending sequence[]

Panels 83, 84: With the time helmet fully recharged, Deadpool reactivates it and resumes his journey through time. Move on to either You Are Deadpool #3 (or #4 if already completed) if your Sadness Score is higher than or equal to your Badness Score, You Are Deadpool #4 (or #3 if already completed) if your Badness Score is higher, or You Are Deadpool #5 if both #3 and #4 are already completed.
